Yellowhead Highway
• . | ., BC
Considered one of the world's great drives, the Trans-Canada Yellowhead Highway stretches from coastal British Columbia to southern Manitoba, covering a distance of 2,800 km (1,684 mi). The western end starts either on Highway 5 in Hope or Highway 16 in northern BC. As the highway heads east, the road moves through coastal rain forest to climb up through the Rocky Mountains, then on to the foothills of Alberta, through the prairie of Saskatchewan to finally end up in Winnipeg, capital of the lake province of Manitoba.
